Thanks for doing the podcast, there can never be too many gaming podcasts that focus on German/Euro games. :-) I listened to all of the reviews today and wanted to offer some friendly suggestions/criticisms-

1. Unless I missed the part where you mentioned it, you didn’t offer an opinion on Railroad Tycoon like you did with the other reviews. How did you like it/rate it?

2. In your Yinsh review, you mentioned it was your second favorite game in the Gipf series. What is your first?

3. The sound quality is not that great. It reminds me of tuning in to an AM station to hear weather/mountain pass reports. A few of the shows had a buzzing sound in the background.

4. Why limit the podcast to 5 minutes? I think your overview of the rules/mechanics is about right (except with Puerto Rico) but I think more opinion is needed. Try adding anecdotes from some of the games you played. Strong opinion whether positive or negative is what makes a show stand out. Thank goodness for Derk and Joe Steadman. lol I’d rather hear a slower paced 10 minute show than a rushed 5 minute show.

Keep up the good work!

1. RR Tycoon is enjoyable, but not an upper tier game. I give it a 7. In my scale 5-6 are average games, 7-8 are good and 9-10 are superior.

2. GIPF is my favorite of the series.

3. Agreed. Hopefully the sound quality is better with my new, thrift-store phone.

4. The Blogger audioblog service limits each audioblog to 5 minutes. I think 5 minutes is a good time frame to shoot for. Even if the service gets better (and it will) in months to come I will still try to keep each review less than 5 minutes long.

I have a short attention span. I don't care for long reviews. I find most long reviews (whether written or audio) to be repetitive, and give a level of detail that doesn't interest me. I like short reviews and if I find I have further questions about the game I will consult a longer review, but not the whole thing, just the part that addresses my question.

In my opinion the web needs a better selection of short reviews.
